PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE 1994-2006 (last updated in 2007)

The main focus of my professional career has been urban planning and community development. My strength as a planner has been to bring parties together to develop strategies, deal with conflicting interests, and create broad community and political support for new initiatives. From 1994 through 2006 I have played a key role in the development and implementation of strategic plans to revitalize neighborhoods in and around Amsterdam in the Netherlands. My Dutch background and experience brings a unique but relevant perspective to planning in an American context.
